Kathie Lee Gifford hosted the 4th hour of TODAY with Hoda KOTB from 2008 through April 5, 2019. Entertainment Weekly had hailed the Gifford/Kotb hours as appointment television, and USA Today referred to TODAY's "happy hour" in their piece. The year 2014 was the year that Gifford composed the critically-acclaimed TODAY the Musical featuring the host and cast of the show and each month she had written songs for the popular segment Everyone Has a Story.
