Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci is a Romanian gymnast (born 12 November 1961 in Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej [now OnestiGheorghe Gheorghiu Dej [now Onesti] Romania). She was the first to achieve a perfect 10 in an Olympic occasion. Bela Karalyi was introduced to Comaneci at age six. She would later become the coach for Romania's gymnastics. Comaneci participated for the first time in the 1969 National junior championships. She finished 13th. Following that, she took home the title of champion. In 1972, as part of the communist nations' meet for juniors prior to the Olympic Games, she was awarded 3 gold and silver medals. And in 1973, and 1974, she won the champion of all juniors. She topped Russian Lyudmila Torishcheva. The five-time European champion, at her first senior international competition held in the year 1975. In this event she took home four golds as well as a silver. In 1976, she was the first female to complete reverse double salos on the bar with a parallel unevenness as part of her dismount. She won the title of the American Cup, held in New York City. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Her career began in the entertainment industry during her teens, when she appeared as two figure skaters with Nina Wayne and her twin sister Nina Wayne for the travelling entertainment program Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne is a U.S. citizen born on 6 September 1942 in Chicago Illinois. Carol began her journey into the entertainment business during her teens. She began her career as model skater with her sister Nina Wayne as part of the shows that traveled around that were known as Ice Capades. These shows included ice skating performances that were accompanied by musical theatre.
